A BDC Parent Ambassador is a positive spokesperson, an opinion leader and community influencer, accepted into the program.
Parent Ambassadors are current Bishop Druitt College (BDC) parents that have applied and been accepted into the program by the BDC Principal.
Be part of the conversation
Parent ambassadors are a positive spokesperson, an opinion leader and community influencer having regular conversations with the college towards common college goals, striving for excellence for the college community.
Get involved in what you want, when you can
This new program allows for parents with a passion for the college to get involved and positively promote college interest areas, when applicable.
Enrich our students, our community and our college culture
Get involved in college interest areas. Parents with particular interest areas such as sport, music, drama, events etc. can engage with the college within these areas, bringing passion while striving towards the best outcomes for the college.
Share your college knowledge
This program gives parents the opportunity to share positive college knowledge from their perspective and extend the hand of friendship to new parents joining the college community.
The power to make a positive difference
Ambassadors have the power to make a difference. You never know when a particular conversation between ambassador and family is going to lead to a positive decision or when the bond an ambassador creates with another parent is going to make them feel comfortable enough to join the school community.
Activities
Parent Ambassadors may get involved in class activities, school open days, curriculum and co-curricular evenings, breakfasts, social engagements, strategic planning and other college activities at an ad hoc basis.
Engagement
Parent Ambassadors will engage as a parent leader within their year group; Junior Primary, Senior Primary, Year 7,8,9,10,11 and 12. Parent Ambassadors will engage with their year group coordinator of the college as well as other staff within the college and alumni.
Communications to ambassadors regarding community events, college events, class activities and programs or strategies will come through the project owner cc’ing the Stage/Year Coordinator.
Program launch
The Parent Ambassador Program will be launched in 2023 and ambassadors will routinely go through a rollover process from one year to the next, changing their year level each year - for example from Year 5 to Year 6.
