Recently, BDC's World Options students set up a business and learn the basics of marketing, operations, human resources and financial management... and all while raising funds for charity.
BDC was able to donate $1400 to the Coffs Harbour Uniting Church Soup Kitchen.
In response, Soup Kitchen chairperson, Phil Crofts, said:
"I'm just lost for words. Bishop Druitt College has a strong tradition (14 or 15 years, or so) of supporting the Uniting Church Soup Kitchen. But this just simply blows me away, and I don't use those words lightly.
Right at the moment... BDC is in the throes of collecting for the Soupie's Christmas hampers, as well as supporting Warrina Women Refuge. Somehow or other, BDC each year also seems to find a money donation to support us. But that figure, well, again I say, it blows me away... blessings to you all."
