NSW AFL Senior School Cup

The Senior Girls AFL team travelled to Tuggerah to compete in the NSW AFL Senior School Cup. This is a huge accomplishment, with the team coming up against some of the best teams in the state. They gave it their all, holding their own in some tough and very physical games.

The team finished the day with 3 wins against Hunter Sports High, St Marys Star of the Sea and St Peters Catholic College. The only loss was to Endeavour Sports High, the eventual winners of the tournament.

Goal scorers on the day were Amaia Wain, McKenzie Smith, Caroline Mostert, Poppi Flanders and Ruby Flanders. The girls finished in an impressive second place. A tremendous effort and an outstanding result.

Bill Turner Trophy - Round 3 v JPC

In round 3 of the Bill Turner Trophy our under 15 Girls football team took on St John Paul College at the Coffs Harbour Synthetics.

In a tough-fought battle, our girls went down 4-2 coming off second best to a strong SJPC outfit. Strong performances by Phoebe Oliver and Charlotte Bunny were crucial in the team's performance this year, and a special mention goes out to Tayla Foldes who unknowingly competed for 50 minutes on a fractured foot!

CIS Football Cup - Semi Final - 12/6/24 v Mamre Anglican School @ Coffs Synthetics

After defeating Trinity Grammar in the quarter-final game, the open boys team took on Mamre Anglican School who travelled to Coffs Synthetics for the semi-final. Unfortunately on the weekend prior Anderson Haldon injured himself to be unavailable for this important game. The game started and both teams had good patches. Mamre took the lead with a good finish 20 minutes into the first half. Shortly after this goal, Kai Veneziano made an incredible run down the left side, beating multiple players, getting into the penalty box and drawing a foul. Logan Sambrook took a well-placed penalty to make the score 1-1 at halftime.

In the second half the boys continued to push for goals and with some changes needed, they gave away possession to Mamre who were clinical with their finishing to score 2 quick goals around 60 mins to take the score out to 3-1.

BDC pushed hard towards the end of the game but couldn’t find the finish, losing the game 3-1. It is a gallant effort from BDC to take on extremely strong teams and make the top 4 of the CIS competition. They should be very proud and hopefully can go one better next year.
