Songmaker sessions: Budding Coffs Harbour songwriters to be mentored by industry hitmakers

The search is on for budding songwriters and music producers to join a new music industry mentoring program touring regional NSW this Summer. The SongMakers Summer Sessions are part of the Office for Regional Youth Holiday Break program in partnership with
APRA AMCOS and Create NSW. Coffs Harbour is one of 6 targeted locations, which also include Albury, Port Macquarie, Lismore, Goulburn and Wagga Wagga.
Hosted at the Multicultural Hub, the Coffs Harbour/Gumbaynggirr Country workshop is on
Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 January, 10am – 4pm
Young people aged 16 – 21 are invited to apply to be part of the free program, where they will write songs, record and learn about music industry careers from some of Australia’s most exciting hitmakers. There will be a showcase opportunity on day 2 where friends and families can celebrate and hear the new songs.
Visiting Coffs Harbour for the SongMakers Summer Session are industry mentors:
· platinum producer/artist and triple j favourite, Taka Perry, whose credits include Ruel, Denzel Curry, Max Frost and A.GIRL.
· Lily Richardson, one half of sister rock duo CLEWS, who have shared stages with Ocean Alley, Tash Sultana, Holy Holy, Portugal. The Man. And Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes.

And connection through music is also a powerful part of how we’ve all coped through the trials of the past year. We can’t wait to meet some budding new songwriters in Coffs Harbour through these sessions and keep the connections going as we match them with some really inspiring mentors.”
