Simon Doyle appointed Principal of Bishop Druitt College

The Bishop Druitt College Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Simon Doyle as the new Principal of Bishop Druitt College, commencing Term 2, 2025.
Following a national and international search process that drew strong interest from a diverse field of candidates, a testament to the strong reputation of our college in the educational landscape, the College Council has unanimously endorsed Mr Simon Doyle’s appointment. Mr Doyle has served the college with distinction as Assistant Principal and Head of Secondary School and brings over seven years of proven leadership and strategic development to the role.
“Simon’s leadership combines strategic clarity, authenticity, and a deep commitment to continuing the momentum the college has built in recent years,” said David Ford, Chair of the College Council. “He is dedicated to making thoughtful, courageous decisions while maintaining a clear vision for the future and honouring the college’s proud legacy.”
Mr Doyle’s educational philosophy is grounded in equity, voice, and purpose. A strong advocate for student wellbeing and inclusive education, Simon has championed innovations with our staff such as our cross-campus learning initiatives including Designing for Deep Learning, developing new metrics for success, creating digital badging opportunities, further developing our rites of passage and embedding our high school programs of acceleration. His deep faith and servant leadership style align with the college’s Anglican tradition and its mission to be the leading K-12 school on the North Coast.
