Bishop Druitt College music students Rose Light (9) and Felix Hughes-Chivers (8) have made it to the semi-finals of the Queensland International Chamber Music Competition in Brisbane.

The Queensland International Chamber Music Competition is being held for the first time in 2019.  Entry is open to a wide variety of ensembles with a maximum age of 35 and is designed to give incredible opportunities to talented young and emerging artists.

A panel of esteemed musicians from across the country have been selected to adjudicate the competition, and prizes will be offered in a variety of categories. The judges for the final round will be the esteemed violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto, Professor Stephen Emmerson, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra principal flute, Alison Mitchell. The standard is extremely high, so they will definitely have some big decisions to make.

Rose and Felix will be travelling to Brisbane on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of July to perform as semi-finalists with Coffs Con String Quartet in the Queensland International Chamber Music Competition. If they are successful, they will proceed to the grand finals on Friday 19th July.
