Understanding local workforce needs provides business growth opportunities
Tuesday, 20 Apr 2021
Coffs Harbour businesses have benefited from regional growth in the last 12 months, but getting future workforce demands right is key to maximising this opportunity, according to demographer and futurist, Mark McCrindle.
“The last 12 months has brought about the biggest transformation to work in a century - from how we communicate to where we work, as well as generational change,” says McCrindle.
“Australian business is transforming, and with an aging workforce the future will require us to engage with young people and equip them and our organisations to thrive in the years ahead.
“Coffs Harbour is one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, and post COVID-19 is growing at a faster rate than Sydney. This provides great opportunities for business, but getting future workforce demands right is key.”
Mark McCrindle is a demographer, futurist, social researcher, TedX speaker, author and Principal at internationally recognised, McCrindle research consulting firm.
Mark McCrindle will present key changes to the regional workforce in a business networking event to be held on Wednesday 26 April from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at Bishop Druitt College. Local businesses are invited to attend to hear more from Mark at this inaugural event.
Local businesses are invited to attend this free event to hear Mark McCrindle’s take on the future of the labour market in regional Australia, and how schools and career educators can work with the local business community.
