Generosity is something that I believe is inherent in us all. A gift that can be shared with others in numerous ways depending on our outlook on life and our financial means. As the state emerges from ‘covid lockdown’ I know there are many people who have been enjoying a coffee or two with friends and family as they reconnect. It’s an opportunity to chat and share the news and events of not just the present but also what the future may look like which, is still somewhat of a mystery…
Whether you’re younger or older sharing with others is something that brings joy and hope. The excitement of students as they meet up after holidays or a break apart is always expressed with much joy and enthusiasm. Sadly, though for many in our community the joys of life are not so forthcoming. However, as a college community, we collectively can make a significant difference to the lives of many in our area through our annual ‘Bishop Druitt College Christmas Appeal’ which will commence shortly.
The Christmas Appeal with was established around 14 years ago supports The Coffs Harbour Uniting Church Soup Kitchen and The Warrina Women’s and Children’s Refuge in Coffs Harbour.
A letter about the appeal and the donations we collect will be sent to all families. Please read the letter with a spirit of generosity and donate freely so that as a community we can bring refreshment to the lives of those who struggle daily.
