As Term 3 draws to a close, we prepare to say goodbye to the class of 2024 through our Valedictory Week celebrations. It’s my honour to be able to add my words of ‘goodbye and good luck’ as they go out into the world.
To our Valedictorians - what an amazingly talented, diverse, compassionate, and sometimes hilarious bunch of young people you are. I know that some of you have big plans and will do big things - others may be more uncertain, or planning some much-needed down time after exams. Wherever you go, and whatever you end up doing, please always remember who you are - precious daughters and sons of the good and loving God who made us all. Nurture your relationships, chase your dreams, and stay true to your values. I’ll pray for you through your exams and beyond, and I am always here if you need to talk or just want to pop by and let us know how you are going.
May God bless you and keep you,
May God smile on you, and be gracious to you,
May God turn towards you, and give you peace.
“It’s like the Questacon of God”
One of the highlights of this term has been our Prayer Spaces, interactive spaces designed to invite students to reflect on matters of faith and spirituality. In keeping with our term chapel themes of Creation and Justice, our Prayer Spaces explored light and dark, water, plants, animals, and space.
Students enjoyed the freedom to explore activities at their own pace, finding the places and themes that resonated with them, and helped them come close to God and connect with Creation. This freedom was what prompted one student to compare the experience to Questacon, the amazing science museum who visit Coffs Harbour occasionally.
We hope you enjoy these photos of prayer spaces.
