Vocational Education and Training (VET) at BDC is well underway!
The induction process has been finalised and we have 40 students who have well and truly started their VET course delivered at BDC. These students are looking to maximise their time at school and if competent in all areas of their course will complete Year 12 with their HSC and a nationally recognised qualification. The qualifications we offer students are a Certificate II in Cookery, Certificate II in Construction Pathways, Certificate III in Business or a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services. These qualifications are delivered at school, within our timetable, meaning students aren’t required to undertake classes outside of school. Our VET students are currently preparing for their work placement, which is undertaken in a local business relevant to the students course providing our students with some real world experience and ensuring they are work ready at the end of their qualification. We look forward to continuing to grow VET at BDC!
University Road Show
Our Class of 2025 students were fortunate to have the Universities Roadshow visit recently. They were able to hear from the Future Students Team and University Student Ambassadors from the University of Newcastle, Charles Sturt University, University of New England and Southern Cross University. Our students were able to learn about course offerings, pathways to uni, early entry information, on campus accommodation, scholarships, and more!
