We have hit the ground running this term and have achieved many things so far, one of which is we are now on Schoolbox!
A big thank you to Mr Mark Norberry for his help in making this happen! You can visit here: Schoolbox - BDC Careers for all of your year group careers news and information, we are still in the construction phase with new additions each day. The BDC Careers Google Class is now being phased out and will be removed at a later date.
MNCLHD Elsa Dixon School Based Trainee Sign On Day
Charlie Knight is the well-deserved recipient of the Mid North Coast Local Health District Elsa Dixon Aboriginal School Based Traineeship Program. This is a two-year program for Year 11/12 students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry and Charlie will be completing a Certificate III in Health Services Assistant as a pathway to studying nursing at a later date.
This is an amazing program to be part of and it was great to attend the Sign-On Day with Charlie where she signed the official training contracts. We say a huge congratulations to Charlie and we look forward to seeing your journey through this great program.
WHS White Card Course
Seventeen students from Years 10 and 11 attended the WHS White Card Training course delivered onsite at BDC by Men at Work - Learning Live. A WHS white card is needed for those wanting to enter a construction site and is also a requirement for some of our VET courses delivered at BDC. We look forward to running this event again in 2025!
Follow Up - UCAT Preparation Series
We will be holding a series of workshops for students wishing to sit the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) in 2024 to apply for entry into medicine, dental or clinical science degree programs at universities requiring this test. An introduction workshop will be held in Week 7, Tuesday the 12th March in the iHub from 1pm-1:30pm, and is for any year 11 or Year 12 students interested in sitting the UCAT.
