NCIS Surfing Competition

On Thursday 17th October, the NCIS Surfing Competition was held at Sawtell Beach. After poor conditions postponed this competition earlier in the year, it was great to host the event in excellent surfing conditions in Term 4.

In glassy 3-4 foot waves at Main Beach Sawtell, 33 surfers from different schools showcased their incredible skills in the water. The clean waves provided perfect conditions for high quality surfing and everyone enjoyed the day.

BDC were represented with surfers in all divisions. They showed their surfing abilities and also support for each other and all surfers on the day. In the U16 boys, Teo Whitlock and Xavier Poole were extremely competitive, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final after surfing in a strong semi-final. Zsofia Dryburgh and Maddison Graham competed in the U16 girls, with Maddison in her first surfing competition, making it through to the final. Chase Foldes competed in the Open boys division and made some high scoring waves but unfortunately not making the final. Zoya Dryburgh showed her skills competing well to score 3rd place in the Open girls division.

Well done to all our surfers and thank you to our judges and helpers on the day.

NCIS Volleyball

A team of under 15 girls travelled to Port Macquarie for the NCIS Basketball Week 1 Term 4.

The girls showed great sportspersonship and competitiveness but did not finish at the top of their draw. Thanks to Mr Kitcher and Mrs Downs for taking the crew.
