Year 10 Career Exploration Week (Work Experience)

Great work to the many students who have locked in their placements and got the paperwork in on time! Year 10 will be out on their placements in Week 7, 25th - 27th November and there will be no Year 10 classes at school during this week. For those who are unable to find a face to face placement we can offer a good range of excellent virtual work experience projects for students to work on at home for the week through our school careers website. Please see Ms Ryan if you would like to organise this.

2025 VET Course Induction

For Year 10 students who have chosen to do a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course as a year 11 and 12 subject here at BDC and have placed their desired course on their 2025 subject selection form, a mandatory induction being held towards the end of term 4 for all students undertaking either of the following courses: Construction (Certificate II in Construction Pathways), Hospitality (Certificate II in Cookery), Business Services (Certificate IIi in Business) or VET Entertainment Industry (Certificate II in Live Production and Technical Services). Information will be sent to students and parents who have indicated either of these courses on the subject preference shortly.

Class of 2024 Outcomes

As the class of 2024 are in the midst of sitting their HSC exams we have seen some really great outcomes already with 26 of the cohort of 86 students having received offers to study at university. Some students have received more than one offer and some have received excellent scholarships and accommodation places! Many students are waiting for early entry offers through the School Recommendation Scheme, which will be released on November 8th.

We have some students having been accepted into gap year programs and will be working overseas, other students have been offered interviews for admission to performing arts or medicine and one student will continue their apprenticeship in barbering after the successful completion of their school based traineeship.

Such great outcomes and post school opportunities for students, the hard work is paying off!
