Friday, 14 Mar 2025Congratulations to our incredible chess team
We are thrilled to announce that our BDC chess team achieved outstanding results at a recent competition, with finishes of 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th!
And to top it off, we were named the WINNING SCHOOL!
Agriculture students experienced a dynamic hands-on learning day at Farnworth
The morning began with poultry management, where students handled our chicken flock and welcomed a new rooster to the group. They then turned their attention to our small-scale crop production, harvesting seasonal produce.
A highlight of the day included vital apiary work, where students conducted essential hive inspections and completed the required varroa mite testing to ensure our bee colonies' health. The afternoon saw our budding agriculturalists in the cattle yards, developing their livestock handling skills through mustering and performing comprehensive animal health assessments.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic engagement from our students as they tackled each aspect of farm management.
