Coffs Harbour, Australia - Bishop Druitt College is pleased to announce that Mark Norberry, a Secondary Teacher of Science, has been awarded The Educator Rising Stars National Award 2023. This prestigious award recognises exceptional educators who have made significant contributions to the education sector in Australia.

Mark is a versatile and accomplished educator with a wide range of expertise and responsibilities. His exceptional dedication to inspiring and empowering students, as well as his leadership in sports education and commitment to ongoing professional development, make him an exceptional educator and leader.

Bishop Druitt College Principal Nick Johnstone said that Bishop Druitt College is proud to have such an exceptional teacher on its staff and congratulates Mark on this well-deserved recognition.

Mark delivers engaging and effective lessons in a range of science subjects, including Junior Science, Elective Astronomy Studies, Physics, and Engineering Studies. He has also taken on the role of coordinating the implementation of Bishop Druitt College's online learning management system, training staff and shaping the future direction of the system.

Mark has taken on leadership roles in sports education, convening the NSW Combined Independent Schools Girls Football Championships and managing the selection of players for the State team. He has experience in teaching at the primary level and has excelled in running High School science transition programs that inspire students to explore the wonders of science in a laboratory environment.

Mark's passion for football has led him to achieve notable success as a coach in the education sector, leading his U15's Girls team to a Top 16 finish in the 2022 Bill Turner Tournament. He is also involved in coaching in a Talented Female Football Program that identifies and develops elite players in the region.
