Cambodia Fundraiser 

MUFTI DAY AND LUNCH SAUSAGE SIZZLE TOMORROW FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER.

This Friday we will be having a mufti day (wearing blue and red - the colours of the Cambodian flag) and bbq to raise funds for 4 different organisations that Year 11 & 12 will be visiting in Cambodia in December.

The money does not go to the trip or reducing prices for students or staff. All of it will be donated or used to purchase equipment and then donated to these 4 organisations. These organisations are Krou Yeung School - our sister school where our previous donations have helped with scholarships, musical instruments, equipment for their science lab and books for the library. We also visit and learn from PAPA where we will spend a day at a rural school retiling and rebuilding parts of their playground. Free to Shine is dedicated to trying to support families out of extreme poverty so they do not feel that the only option is to send their children into the sex trade. Finally, we go to an elephant sanctuary that tries to buy elephants and saves them from both the tourist and logging industry.

We are aiming to raise $10,000 overall to donate to these organisations. Your help through mufti donations and supporting the sausage sizzle will all go towards this.

Please note that there will only be cash facilities for the BBQ. Sausages will be $2 each and soft drinks $2. Thank you for your support.

BDC Book Fair

Do you want the best new children’s books? They’re coming to our college soon! 

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to BDC! It will be arriving on Tuesday 15th November and will be here until Friday 18th November. Come and support our school whilst getting your hands on the best new children’s books!  

Join us from 3pm on Tuesday the 15th November in front of the Primary Library for a FREE BBQ and prize raffle to celebrate the opening of the Book Fair for 2022!

You and your child will have the opportunity to explore a huge range of affordable books featuring characters and subjects kids love and want to read about. From newly released books and bestsellers to award-winning titles and perennial favourites.

This is also a great way for you to learn about, and discuss your child's interests and every book sold benefits our school, adding resources to our library and classrooms.

Scholastic Book Fairs help us show students the wonder of reading. After all, when kids choose their own books, they will be more excited to read, and they will naturally read more!
