Paris Warncken: Australian Sports Aerobics Champion
We are delighted to share the remarkable success of our Bishop Druitt College alumni, Paris Warncken (HSC 2020), and her teammate Brooklyn Leonard, who have reached new heights in the world of Australian sports aerobics. Their dedication and talent have earned them a well-deserved spot on the global stage, representing Australia at the Federation of International Sports, Aerobics and Fitness (FISAF) World Championships.
Paris and Brooklyn's most recent triumph came at the FISAF National Championships held on the Gold Coast, where they claimed victory in the highly competitive Adult Duo section. This incredible achievement not only secured their position as national champions but also earned them the prestigious opportunity to showcase their skills on the world stage.
Their journey to the FISAF World Championships in Belgium is not their first taste of international success. In the previous year, the dynamic duo displayed their exceptional talents in the World Championships held in the Czech Republic, where they achieved a remarkable fifth-place finish. This impressive performance served as a testament to their unwavering dedication to their sport.
What truly sets Paris and Brooklyn apart is their exceptional partnership. Over the past fifteen years, they have been training and competing together, forming a bond that goes beyond the arena. They know each other's strengths and weaknesses like the back of their hands, making them a formidable team. Brooklyn aptly summarized their unique dynamic by saying, "My weaknesses are Paris's strengths, and my strengths are Paris's weaknesses, so it is a perfect match!"
Their remarkable journey has seen them clinch eleven national titles, consistently earning the highest possible scores. Such a remarkable achievement at this high level of competition is a testament to their relentless dedication and hard work.
