After finishing my HSC in 2012 I studied Physiotherapy for a year before gaining acceptance into the Joint Medical Program through the University of Newcastle in 2014, and was the recipient of the $35,000 David Beer Memorial scholarship.
I worked as a university tutor throughout my course and also continued my piano studies, winning the Nan Price Memorial scholarship in 2015 and gained my AMusA and ATCL in piano performance in 2018.
In the same year I graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine with Distinction and moved back to Coffs Harbour to commence my internship. I became a Conjoint Associate Lecturer for the UNSW rural clinical school, through which I received the "Junior Medical Officer Excellence in teaching award" at the end of 2019.
I have now finished my Residency and am still working as a Doctor in Coffs Harbour, currently as a Registrar in the Emergency Department. At present I am pursuing my Fellowship in General Practice and hope to complete this specialty training by the end of 2023.
